As this year’s BML16 (formerly BritMums Live) draws closer, BritMums have opened their linky up for bloggers who are heading to London on June 25th to introduce themselves before the event. So for anyone who’s going and doesn’t know me, here I am!
Today Toby turned 21 months old and I am now 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant with baby girl, so with 11 short days until my due date and our gorgeous boy reaching a new month for the last time as our only child, I thought a joint update was in order! Being 38 weeks pregnant alongside having a 21 month old toddler isn’t always the easiest, but I wouldn’t have it any other way and I love them both so much.
This is the first year since I started blogging that I feel like I actually have even the slightest clue as to what I’m doing! I feel comfortable and happy with how my blog looks, my voice, my writing style and the amazing opportunities I’ve been lucky enough to have. We’re now a week or so into the nominations part of the big blogging awards season and with nominations going in thick and fast for both the Tots 100 MADs and BritMums BiBs, I’ve decided to hold my breath, tell you all about them and hit publish!
I’ve been blogging for a little over 2 years now and being a blogger does mean a lot to me, it’s become an intrinsic part of me and my identity. With my gradual wind down towards baby girl’s arrival, alongside a lot of sleepless nights, I’ve had some time to think about my blog, being a blogger and what I want from it moving forward.
I awoke this morning to the news that Instagram is going to be changing to an algorithm based timeline rather than the current chronological order. What does this mean? Well basically – like their parent social media platform Facebook – the default settings for what you see on your feed will be that you see things Instagram believes you most want to see based on your previous ‘liked’ posts and things that are popular or trending. Is this the death of social media? It kind of feels like it to me.
