I love baking, believe it or not, however attempting it with the kids just breaks my soul and so to avoid the stress this Halloween, I opened the cupboards, saw some perfect snacks that could work together, and we made these very, very easy no bake Halloween toddler treats!
What you’ll need
- Soreen lunchbox loaves (we had chocolate orange to hand – nom!)
- Chocolate spread, or chocolate to melt (We used Sweet Freedom spread)
- Sugar crystals or similar for eyes
- Pretzel snacks, or whatever you have to hand for wings/legs
What to do
I’m pretty sure it’s self explanatory from the photos, but we basically coated the Soreen bars in spread, and sprinkled black and orange cake sprinkles on top. We added pretzel snacks for wings, then using small dollops of spread on the popcorn we used sugar crystals for eyes, and stuck to popcorn on using another dollop of spread.
I *could* have spent hours making cakes or something, but actually Martha’s a clingy poppet, Toby doesn’t want to stay inside for long, and these were just so simple and just as well enjoyed as something that would have taken hours!
So there we go – quite possible the most simple, least professional Halloween snacks ever; and we love them!
Once the trick or treating is done and the kids are in bed, why not grab a glass of wine and the rest of the popcorn, and watch season 2 of the AMAZING Stranger Things, on Netflix? Go binge watch – you won’t regret it!
