A couple of weeks ago I had an email from Von, who alongside his wife, has created Nimble Babies Milk Buster, a naturally formulated spray which helps to remove milk residue from baby bottles.

I know that since Toby’s been bottle fed, I have noticed his bottles looking progressively more cloudy, stained and a bit smelly. Nimble Babies is made using sugar, amino acids and coconuts alongside other plant-derived extracts, creating a superior cleaning solution which has a close PH to water and is free of SLES, dyes and fragrances.

My first question was why this would be better than usual washing up liquid, water alone or sterilisation, but the fact is that none of those methods actually removes milk residues, so those linger. Unlike most cleaning products, Nimble Babies is designed to remove milk and fat rather than food grease, it is sulfate-free and contains an odour-absorbing ingredient to remove milk odour instead of just covering it up.

I have to admit that I wasn’t totally sure, wondering how useful this could be but I do think it’s good. Toby’s bottles are pretty clouded up after 11 months of use so I wasn’t expecting miracles and whilst the bottles aren’t suddenly as clear as they were from new, I have to say that the smell has certainly reduced and they smell more fresh.

The photo below shows a bottle washed only with Nimble (on the left) and one washed with water and liquid (on the right), so as you can see the difference isn’t hugely noticeable but the change in the smell is and I do think the one washed with Nimble looks cleaner. With Baby Thimble, I’ll use Nimble Babies as soon as he or she has bottles (assuming they do, we’ll see how it goes!) and I would be interested to see the long-term differences.
