It’s been a bit of a mixed bag of a weekend because we’re all still quite zombified from Toby waking up so much in the night, then being up so early every morning, for the last few weeks. We’ve managed to pack quite a lot it, but I’ve stupidly not taken my ‘big’ camera at all, so have had to snap away on my phone. Here’s our weekend in photos.

Phil and I went out for a date night on Thursday whilst Toby stayed at my parents’. I’d been feeling rotten with blocked sinuses, but steamed myself clear enough to enjoy a lovely meal with my hubby.

On Saturday, I felt really emotional when I first woke up and ended up writing a letter to Baby Girl which had me in tears! Later, we ventured out and ended up using our National Trust passes at Belton House, where the have absolutely the best playground I’ve ever seen in my life! We have been a couple of times previously, but Toby is at a great age for really exploring the equipment now and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Toby slept through on Saturday night until 5am, then went back off and treated us to a 7 am lie-in, which was bliss! We had some fun family time and did lots of singing, then Toby also asked for his paints and made a lovely dinosaur scene in a box. He was, however, then in a really odd mood for a while and when I took him into town to give Phil time to get some work done it was an absolute nightmare of a few hours! If he walked then he wouldn’t hold my hand. If I put the reign on him then he threw himself on the floor screaming and if I put him in his pushchair he screamed. He finally succumbed to a measly 35-minute nap before waking up and… Screaming! When we got home, I was losing my mind a little so Phil took Toby out to get some wood for the fire and I did some freelance work and blogging to de-stress a bit!

It was far from a terrible weekend though and whilst we were in town, Toby chose a beautiful Jellycat cuddly toy to give to Baby Girl when she arrives. At some point we’ll buy him a present from her too but that will be a bit nearer the time in case his current adoration of tractors, planes, sheep and peacocks changes!
